What items are not accepted for consignment?

Items not accepted include: Electronics, large China sets, suitcases, furniture, appliances, men’s and children’s clothing, books, cds. Items may be excluded/limited per the Manager.

What's the difference between consignment and thrift?

For consignment, items are priced by markers (unless a specific price is requested) and are on sale on the floor for six (6) weeks at a 50/50 split. After this time, items become the property of the shop and are moved to the Thrift side. OR, items that have not sold by six (6) weeks can be retrieved by the consignor before being moved over to Thrift.

How does consignment work?

Consignment checks are issued every three months at February 1, May 1, September 1, December 1. (Shop is closed for July). Checks are not mailed out and should be picked up at the Shop.

How do I become a consigner?

One becomes a consigner by filling out a consigner form which includes their name, address, and phone number. They are then assigned a consignment number which becomes registered with the shop.  Consignments are accepted by appointment only on Tuesday, Thursday or Saturday during regular shop hours. Limit of one appointment per week and only 10 items total per appointment (combination of clothing and/or bric-a-brac).

If I become a member, am I obligated to volunteer at the shop?

No! We are very grateful for your membership dues. They help to cover the day-to-day costs of running and maintaining the shop, but we do need folks to work at the desk and in the back room and we would love to have you join our happy, friendly staff of volunteers.
